ISAM-Dillon has been cancelled for 2010 due to insufficient applications. We will attempt to offer this opportunity in 2011. The PPYC Summer Workshop - July 12-16 is on schedule. Deadline for applications is Saturday June 26.

All entries for the 2010 competition have been received. We received 71 total entries including submissions from Chile and China.

Luke Fatora, currently a freshman at Oberlin Conservatory, Ohio will be performing a violin concert featuring some of his original compositions at Lord of the Mountains Lutheran Church, Dillon, Colorado on January 31st at 4:00 pm. PPYC Artistic Director Leonard Rhodes will accompany.

Pikes Peak Young Composers is pleased to announce a donation of $1200 by Pikes Peak chapter of the National League of American Pen Women. This money will be used to fund three full scholarships for young women between the ages of fifteen and eighteen to the 2009 Summer Workshop in July. To apply for this scholarship send an email to info@pikespeakyoungcomposers.org by June 19, 2009.

Len Rhodes wants to thank all performers, composers, board members, and the fantastic audience for their support at last night's concert. The packed auditorium at Packard Hall was a testimony to the continuing success of this organization.

Congratulations to two local Young Composers. Ashley Montalvo, and Noah Smith, both students at District 20 Schools in Colorado Springs. These young composers were highlighted in the Woodmen Edition, a local weekly newspaper, for their success in the Pikes Peak Young Composers Competition.

PPYC is very excited this year to be posting the results of the winning compositions on the website! For the first time in our history winners will be able to go to the website and find out if they placed! Check out the results of the 2009 competition on May 8, 2009. Compositions not placed will receive their score, judging sheet and certificates the week of May 11th.

Pikes Peak Young Composers received 72 entries this year, the second highest ever! Len Rhodes is thrilled at the overall quality of entries - some of the most remarkable compositions this organization has seen in it's fourteen-year history!

Founder/Artistic Director Len Rhodes, was interviewed by Dan Cochell, from KRDO News Channel 13/KRDO Newsradio 105.5 FM 1240 AM This was a great opportunity for PPYC. Len Rhodes sounded great explaining what Pikes Peak Young Composers does, and how young people can become involved.

PPYC Executive and Artistic Director Leonard Rhodes announces significant changes and additions to the categories in Divisions 1, 2 and 3. If you have entered compositions in previous years, please check the appropriate category for 2009.
- Wine, Cheese and Music Fundraiser
Our 1st Wine, Cheese & Music Fundraiser Event was an amazing success. 65+ people attended the event and three young composers delighted everyone with their compositions. A grant through the Bea Vradenburg Foundation for $1500.00 was available providing PPYC could match the $1500.00 grant. We raised $2,585.00 achieving our goal. We do plan to host quarterly Wine, Cheese & Music events beginning in 2009.

- 2008 Competition Winners
Pikes Peak Young Composers is thrilled to announce the winners and honorable mentions in our 2008 Competition. This was a very exciting year for us. For the first time in our history we received entries from outside of the United States, including a participant from Hong Kong! Needless to say the talent was extraordinary!
