WHEN:

WHY:

The Pikes Peak Young Composers Summer Workshop was created to provide to student composers the opportunity for group and individual support and instruction from members of the Pikes Peak Young Composers Competition judging panel and other composers and musicians. The workshop provides a hands-on opportunity for students who need help with any or all of the topics addressed during the workshops. Each student receives two private lessons with the faculty. Students also attend rehearsals and concerts of new music presented by the Colorado College Summer Session's New Music Symposium. The goal for every student participating in the Summer Workshop is to benefit from the classes and also have the chance to discuss with the workshop faculty any questions about their compositions, theory and harmony, and how to prepare their compositions for performance. Practice studios are available.
